About The Material 

Gold Filled jewelry is made by wrapping solid layers of gold (18k) around the metal. Unlike gold plated jewelry, gold-filled jewelry is legally required to contain a minimum of 5% solid gold. The process of wrapping solid gold sheets around the base of the metal makes for jewelry that will not tarnish or discolor. 

Since gold-filled jewelry is made by actually wrapping the piece in solid gold and not dipping it, it does not allow for the metal used on the piece to come in contact with the skin, making the suitable for all skin types.
